Day 2

Day 2 was a breeze. Had seven servings of the lemonade. Did my morning yoga, had college lectures, wen for a job interview and got some study done I did hit a very tired slump about 5 o clock but I just rested and then got some air and I was back chirpy me!
I've been doing the overnight laxatives and morning salt water flush and it hasn't been too dramatic for me. I cleansed my whole system( quite violently!) with a fast and salt water flush about 3 months ago so anything that's toxic in me now will have only accumulated in these last few months. I'm facing some challenges in the next few days. Easter especially will be difficult I predict. I will be on day 7 by then (hopefully) and so very very close to the ease out stage that I'll be happy in the final momentum!

Master Cleanse!!

Master Cleanse;

After moving to Australia a friend put me on to www.sarahwilson.com an impossibly organised blog written by......Sarah Wilson. aka the woman who does it all! What keeps me checking her blog and following her is her mission to make people recognise the drug that is sugar. Highly addictive and fed to us from under the age of one. It's been months and I've been slow but I finally eliminated from my daily diet ALL sugar. Yes, ALL sugar. Including fruit, honey, sauces, all processed foods, all of the sneaky things that sugar is added to without our even knowing. However I started to notice that I couldn't maintain the sugar free life as a student, constantly surrounded by flatmates who think I am bonkers and propagate my progressive (my word not theirs) eating habits around some judging friends as 'Rosanna's ridiculousness' In these instances I just remind myself that as is the case with almost everything- People don't like it when you do something different- I think it calls into question what they are doing and no one likes to be questioned when they don't know the right answers.
After being entirely sugar free for about a week, without any cheating. This is incredibly difficult for someone who used to consume up to 8/9 servings of fruit a day, I was feeling good and had gotten past any cravings for the drug. However then came the special offer grapes in Coles and the late night baking with friends. Two instances where MASSIVE amounts of sugar entered my body in a very short amount of time. About 10 minutes after ingesting the drug I felt numb and this may sound a bit dramatic, but I couldn't think, I was brain dead and all my muscles were instantly fatigued. My body was past the withdrawal stage and had entered recovery and now I had hit it HARD with the abusing substance and it was in shock. It was these two instances that made me realise I wanted to commit fully to a life sans sugar. So yesterday morning without any preparation I started the Master cleanse. This will be my Diary;

Day 1
Had 5 servings of the lemonade.
recipe=
2 tablespoons of Maple syrup
2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice (or 1/4 a med size lemon)
As much cayenne pepper as I can manage
250ml of water.

I wasn't hungry at al during the day. I had my usual slump around 3 o clock which came primarily from just sitting reading all day long. Didn't feel weak or tired. I did however have green tea, which I didn't realise till later on, is not allowed on the cleanse. I'm going to have to get some no caffeine teas. Couldn't find any laxative herbal teas at Coles last night so just took a laxative. Something I would never have felt comfortable doing before. Always of the thought laxatives are reserved for the severely constipated or people with eating disorders but I'm determined to follow the cleanse as best as possible. (I don't have any purified water so drinking normal tap, I don't know the major difference this will have, according to the internet it's rather important so maybe I'll try see if I can get a purifier)

I'm feeling confident about the cleanse. Going to aim for 3 days, while secretly hoping to make it to 5 and all the while thinking I can definitely do it for 8. 10 days is too long to think about so just taking each day as is.
I need to up my intake to at least 6 servings of the lemonade. If I don't drink enough then I will start to loose all ability to will myself on. I should really take note of my measurements and weight. Although this cleanse is not for weight purposes alone it would be interesting to see how much I loose.. I weighed 68kg about a month ago and that's the heaviest I've ever been. Having gained 9 kg in a year is not really ideal but when I'm proactive about being healthy then it doesn't bother me too much.
I'm going to post every day so that I have a record of how this goes for me and also something to keep me motivated. I reckon I'll see a change in my body after 5 days, which coincidentally is easter weekend. Listen there is never an ideal time to go on a fast/cleanse/detox so why let all the scrummy choccy around easter be a deterrent??

strawberry Fields..

I went to the coast to a booootiful beach right before I left for Ireland and on the way back stopped to pick a Kilo of strawberries!!! I honestly couldn't have been more chuffed! Strawberries, gelato and a beautiful novelty!!! A perfect Tuesday afternoon, far away from the uni classes I was supposed to be attending!

WaterColour Skirt...

Didn't take any photos of my outfit today...just this cheeky snap on the bus!
Beautiful watercolor maxi skirt with super convenient modesty shorts underneath! Brisbane is getting HOT gonna be 30degress by the end of the week! It's still so freeing to be able to wear only one layer of clothing instead of the mandatory 5 in the Dublin winter to keep out the chill!

New apparel

Bought a couple new items in Ireland... and var pleased with them! I haven't shopped anywhere but Vinnie's and lifeline (charity/thrift shops) since coming to Brisbane, intent as I've been on EMBRACING student life! However there is many a kind word to be noted about a topshop skirt, that actually fits and smells so FRESH and Cleanleee!!

SO FRESH! SO CLEAN!!

I've been trying to organize a daily lookbook for a while but I've been falling so short in lacking the basic fundamental of a camera!!! Been having a lil schcope around the interweb and some shops in Dublin, but haven't felt the pull towards a particular one yet! I'll make do with some shity-ass mobile phone pointed at the mirror while i pose awkwardly for the time being! Here is a nitty gritty grainy example...#photopro

I am a disgustingly avid user of the asian peace sign. MUST.STOP.....SOOOOOON!!!

back in Australia

Just in from My 30+ hours of flying ad I'm getting to be a dab hand at the  long haul flights! It's nice to be back in brisbane, and I use the word "nice" with purpose. Such a generic word for what I can only reconcile to be a generic place. It has charm in minute, character in drably dribbles and excitement i limited edition The people are as ever wonderfully kind, with them I cannot, even in my grumpiest hour, find lacking.
Being home in Dublin was perfectly lovely! I treated my family to Oscar Wilde's "A woman of no importance" which is showing in the Gate theatre. Wilde's ability with language and mastery of words literally thrills me! There are few who can be quoted so easily and with aplomb! Every sentence laden with sari, witticisms and intelligent commentary! I'm hoping to go to more theatrical productions in  Brisbane, i should really stop hoping and just go!

My wise Auntie, told me she used to write "DO!" on the back of her hand every day when she was feeling passive. DO! being an instruction for action, a reprimand for laziness and an Order to go and be wonderful. I will be following her example hence forth!
